Broadcasting High School Sports in the USA.
PrepSpin.com was created to highlight student athletes online through rich digital media. PrepSpin is also partners with the Lexington Legends and produces all home games for the Class A Affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
"We love that we can hand a iPad with the scoreboard app installed to an intern or student with little to no experience to keep track of the score. The graphics looked so clean and fresh and fit our budget. The ease of use was a major plus for us and being able to control the scoreboard wirelessly was right on cue."
Interview
We contacted William Warfield, the owner of PrepSpin, MiLB-TV and KHSAA TV producer and asked
him a few questions about
his company
and how Live Score influenced the way he works and broadcasts.
Thank you for the interview.
1. Tell us something about you and your company/work?
It started as a hobby and now PrepSpin is the leading high school sports broadcast network in the
USA.
We broadcast more games and events then most major TV networks.
In addition to the high school broadcasts, in 2015 we also streamed 50 NCAA Div 1 college basketball
games and 72 minor league baseball games
online.
2. How did you find Live Score and what was your first impression?
We found Live Score through a google search. We always strive to be the best and improve on our existing
product.
When we've seen Live Score the first time we knew it was something that we wanted to try
immediately.
The graphics looked so clean and fresh and fit our budget.
The ease of use was a major plus for us and being able to control the scoreboard wirelessly was right on
cue.
3. How do you use Live Score and how does it change the way you work?
We use Live Score in combination
with vMix,
Tricaster and
Wirecast.
The program makes it simple to export a dynamic png image that constantly updates the graphic inside
each of the programs.
We have also tested the software with
the Blackmagic Design ATEM
.
We do that by using the HDMI output that Live Score
is able to send signal out through our graphics card. Then we plug HDMI into the ATEM and Key the
scorebug. All work amazingly well. We love that we can hand an iPad with the scoreboard app installed to
an intern or student with little to no experience to keep track of the score.
4. Which projects and shows have you been involved and what are you currently working on?
PrepSpin is partners with
our state high school association
and we broadcast all state championship
events.
We're also partners with
the Lexington Legends
and produce all home games for the Class A
Affiliate of
the Kansas City Royals
.
In the fall high school sports take over and that keeps us busy
most of the year. Our biggest sports season by far is basketball.
